Effective Monday, November 16, 2009, the hours for lobby and reception at the 1725 28th Street Bureau will be 8:00am to 4:00pm.

At 4:00pm each day, the gate and lobby doors will be closed, and no additional drop-in clients will be admitted to the building. Clients already in the lobby at 4:00pm and those with scheduled appointments will be served.

Job Front: Stimulus Funds Help Sacramento County Job Seekers

A stimulus-fueled jobs program hopes to help Sacramento County and local businesses put people to work.

The $4 million Job Opportunity Program, led by the county's Department of Human Assistance using federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds, targets low-income workers and those in the state's CalWORKs welfare-to-work program.

Effective Monday, September 14, 2009 the Department of Human Assistance is making changes to the Medi-Cal and County Medically Indigent Services (CMIS) Programs.

EBT Transition to New Service Provider

Effective Monday, September 21, 2009, the State of California will be using a new EBT service provider. The new provider is ACS State and Local Solutions, Inc.

There are important things you need to know about this transition:

  • You will NOT be able to use your EBT card
    • From 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2009, through 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2009.
    • During this 24-hour period, clients will NOT be able to use any EBT benefits (food stamps or cash).
  • You will NOT be able to create a new PIN or change an existing PIN
    • From 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18 through 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2009.
  • You will NOT need to replace your cards or PINs. Existing cards and PINs will work on the new EBT system.
  • You are encouraged to call your worker if you have questions about this transition.
