SMUD and Fire Fighters Make the Holidays Brighter
For over 15 years, SMUD and Sacramento Area Fire Fighters Local 522 have been helping Sacramento County Senior Nutrition Service's (SNS) Meals on Wheels Program serve homebound seniors a meal on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Some seniors do not have any family to spend the holidays with nor anyone to cook a meal for them on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Each year SMUD delivers meals to seniors on Thanksgiving. And the Sacramento Area Fire Fighters Local 522 delivers meals to seniors on Christmas day.
Without SMUD and Sacramento Area Fire Fighters Local 522, these seniors would go without a meal on these holidays. SNS and the homebound seniors extend heartfelt thanks to SMUD and Sacramento Area Fire Fighters Local 522 for all their help and generosity.
