Senior Nutrition Services Staff

Senior Nutrition Services provides "Meals On Wheels" in Sacramento County. This program provides hot, nutritious meals for more that 1800 frail seniors in Sacramento County. Last year through the generous support we have received from great individuals and organizations throughout the County, we eliminated our waiting list of over 500 homebound seniors. And, by the end of the year we moved to a new larger facility in West Sacramento.

Mission Statement

The mission of Senior Nutrition Services and its Meals on Wheels program is to support and maintain the independence and dignity of older persons in their homes and communities and to prevent their premature institutionalization through the provision of a nutritious noon meal five days per week.

Special Projects

Veterans History Project: The Veterans History Project collects and preserves the memories, accounts, and documents of American war veterans for future generations.
Ten Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness: The Community Services Planning Council and other social services agencies in Sacramento County are committed to preventing, and eventually eliminating, chronic homelessness by providing permanent housing and coordinating services to help individuals achieve maximum self-sufficiency.
